Smoothies made with orange juice provide the drinker with a high dosage of Vitamin C. And since we need to add vitamin C to our bodies everyday (Vitamin C does not absorb into our system, it helps other vitamins and nutrients absorb instead) these smoothie recipes are a great way to treat yourself to something different. Check out our easy-to-make, time-efficient recipes below.
Strawberry Smoothie with Orange Juice
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup orange juice
1 cup ice
Cut up the strawberries, (size of your preference) and add to blender. Add remaining ingredients to the blender and blend on high for 30-40 seconds, or until you reach your desired consistency.
TIP: Larger chunks of strawberries will add thickness and texture to your smoothie. Small chunks will make your smoothie thinner.
Banana Smoothie with Orange Juice
Ingredients:
1 banana
1 cup orange juice
1 cup orange yogurt
1 cup ice
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend on high for 45 seconds.
TIP: For a smoothie packed with more protein, add one more banana and only ½ cup of ice.
Yogurt Smoothie with Orange Juice
Ingredients:
1 cup oranges
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup orange juice
1 cup ice (if wanted)
Ice isn’t necessary in this smoothie, as ice is usually used as a base for thickness. In this smoothie, the oranges and yogurt provide a great base, however without ice the smoothie is much thicker. Add all of the ingredients to the blender and blend on high for 30 seconds without ice and for 45 seconds with ice. Serve.
TIP: Use low-acid orange juice if you suffer from conditions such as Acid Reflux Disease, to lower the acidity levels in this vitamin C-packed smoothie. |
