Diet Tomato Smoothie
Tomatoes are a great source of iron. Don’t worry about having your V8 today if you make this delicious smoothie.
TIP: The smaller the veggies and tomatoes are cut, makes for a smoother smoothie. Plus, using crushed ice versus cubed,
will make the texture creamier.
Ingredients:
2 cups tomatoes
1/2 cup tomato juice
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup carrots
1/4 cup celery
2 cups ice
Directions:
Cut up your tomatoes, carrots and celery. Add rest of ingredients to the blender and blend for at least 30 seconds on high,
or until you reach your desired consistency.
Chocolate Berry Smoothie
Who would know that you can enjoy chocolate while on a diet. Actually, chocolate in its rawest form isn’t bad for you at all
. TIP: For a thicker smoothie, exchange the water for 1 cup crushed ice.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups water, purified
1 banana
1 cup frozen blackberries
1 tbsp raw chocolate bits
1 tbsp coconut oil
Directions:
Blend all of the ingredients in a blender on medium for approximately 45 seconds, or until you reach your desired consistency. Enjoy!
Orange Smoothie
Oranges are a great way to get your needed daily dosage of Vitamin C. Our bodies don’t store Vitamin C like it does other nutrients, so it’s important to consume it daily. Plus, it helps the body to absorb iron in foods. TIP: If you don’t want a pulpy smoothie, simply leave out the orange.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup plain non-fat yogurt
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 tbsp substitute sugar
1/2 of an orang
Directions:
Peel the orange, cut it up and add it to the blender with the remaining ingredients. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds.
