Strawberry and Acai Berry Smoothie
Acai berry are found in rainforests and begin to deteriorate immediately after they’re picked. Because of this, it’s very rare that you’ll find the actual berry in your local grocery store. Instead, you’ll find it in the form of juice, powder or pulp. TIP: This recipe calls for the juice form of the berry, but you can substitute the juice for powder or pulp.
7 oz Acai Juice
½ cup soy milk
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/4 cup granola
Blend all ingredients together except for the granola for approximately 30 seconds. Top with granola and enjoy!
Energy Smoothie with Acai and Strawberries
Acai must always be kept cold to maintain its true nutritional value. Many people actually prefer to use the pulp version of the berry instead of the juice because the pulp is sold frozen. TIP: To avoid degrading the berry any further, try using the powdered version, either way your smoothie will taste great!
8 oz. Açaí juice
8 whole strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup soy milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend on high for approximately 20-30 seconds, or until you reach your desired consistency. Serve chilled.
