Amazing Avocado Smoothie

If you're in a hurry and need a healthy treat, try this recipe. It’s delicious, rich in magnesium and very easy to make. In fact, you can even make it up as a treat for the kids, and since it’s sweet, they wont know its healthy! TIP: Add more condensed milk if you want it a little sweeter.

Ingredients:

1 large avocado
2 teaspoons condensed milk
1 cup ice

Scoop out avocado into blender. Add 2 teaspoons condensed milk. Then add the ice and blend all of it together until it's a semi-creamy texture.

Heart Healthy Avocado Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is a great alternative to those powdery smoothies you buy at the gym. Instead of spending countless of dollars everyday, go to your local health store and buy each of the ingredients listed below. That way you can make your own delicious smoothie before or after your workout, saving yourself money in the long run. This treat is an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, and pantothenic acid. TIP: For extra sweetness and flavor, add strawberries or blueberries (1/2 cup each).

Ingredients:

1/2 cup ice cubes
1/2 cup skim or soy milk
1/2 an avocado
1 Tablespoon wheat germ
1 Tablespoon oat bran
2 teaspoons ground flaxseed

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a blender for approximately 30-40 seconds, or until you reach your desired consistency. Pour and enjoy!
